Twitter Addiction
published on 10/31/2008 6:22:08 AM
Twitter
has become a new phenomenon in the online world. The 140 characters of wisdom or complete stupidity are found useful by many people. I am also a Twitter and use it on daily bases.
We developers make use of Twitter in many different ways including.
1) Asking a question
2) Ranting about a product
3) Posting links to informative material
Some people have argued that Twitter limitation of 140 characters is making humans more stupid. I disagree with this theory as I think Twitter allows you to read more by visiting different posted links. Also, if the problem can be solved or understood in 140 characters why do we need more? By making things compact we are not getting stupider but we can absorb more information in less time.
Some people have a theory that Twitter helps to open your personal assets for an attack. The reason behind this theory is that anyone who is following you on Twitter is getting your updates and knows what you are doing and where you are at the current frame of time. Once, the culprit knows that you are not at home he/she can easily break in and steal your assets. Although there is currently no news relating Twitter to crimes but this can happen.
The only way to protect you from Twitter home invasion is to send delicate messages as private messages to the designated users.
